How It Works

StreamOn has developed an easy-to-use audio encoder that eliminates hassle. The Appliance is an 8.7″ x 2.1″ x 12.1″ box that’s a plug-and-play encoding device. Simply feed the audio to the Appliance. The Unix-based Appliance encodes the audio into a format that can be delivered over the internet: AAC+, Ogg Vorbis, and in some cases, MP3 encoding. Once the audio is encoded it is sent from the Appliance to our trustworthy servers. There are no firewalls and listeners don’t need to download or install anything. Our servers make the stream public so that listeners can tune in immediately.

The Player

Each station gets its own player. You can customize the player for your station. It represents your brand and promise. It is the interface listeners see when they tune in to your station online.

The player displays the artist and song through our special software. We receive artist and song information from the radio automation system, and that information immediately appears in the meta data on the player. Our software is complex and elegant, ensuring that song and artist information is always accurate and categorized correctly for the listener.

The player also works as a revenue-generating tool and allows you to offer ad space to your advertisers.
